Trading School · Lesson 5

Reading a value chart

The wiggly line tells a true story.

Every Douglas here has a value chart. Each dot on it is one REAL sold trade — the line just connects them in time order.

Buyer Why is the line so wiggly?

Because different trades finish at different prices! One collector paid $18, another paid $24 a month later. Wiggles are normal — they are just history, drawn.

The line starts at the FIRST recorded sold price and ends at the LATEST one. If the end is higher than the start, the value climbed. Lower — it fell. That is all a "mover" is.

One more secret: a chart with only two dots is a very short story. The more real trades a chart holds, the more we can trust its shape.
