Trading School · Lesson 6

Condition counts

Same plush, different story.

Two of the very same Douglas can sell for very different prices. The difference is CONDITION — the shape a plush is really in.

Seller Mine still has its hang tag! And its tush tag is perfect.

Tags matter to collectors. A hang tag is the paper tag; the tush tag is the sewn-in one. A plush that kept both usually sells for more than the same plush without them.

So does honest wear: a well-loved plush with flat fur is still wonderful — it is just a different thing than a like-new one, and its sold prices show it.

That is why you record a condition grade for each of your Douglas, and why you describe condition truthfully when you trade. Honest condition makes fair trades.
