Meet Sasha the Husky. Two people want to trade her — but watch the prices.

Seller I want $30 for Sasha!

That $30 is the ASK. An ask is only what a seller hopes to get. Hoping is not the same as getting.

Buyer Hmm… that is just a hope. I would pay $22.

They talk, and they agree on a price they BOTH say yes to. Deal — $22!

That handshake price is the SOLD price. It really happened, so it is the honest one.
